D&R Machine was founded in 1971 by Richard and Dorothy Hines. Richard worked at Elgin Watch Company where he attended their watch making and tool and die school. It was at Elgin Watch Company where Richard learned how to build machines. The first machines built produced watches but Richard later built machines to produce safety and arming devices. This knowledge and D&R Machine was later passed to their son, Daniel Hines, who expanded the machine building and machining services to the Medical Device and Aerospace industries.

Today we manufacture a variety of parts, tooling, and machines for many types of industries including: Medical Devices, Aerospace and Commercial.

Our mission is still the same as when founded back in 1971, to give our customers the best service possible. 

​

After many years of providing customers with excellent service, Daniel Hines retired. He remains a valued adviser to current ownership.
